We had 14 family members stay at this home comfortably. The house was beautiful and the elevator was such a big help. I highly recommend this home. I wish the weather was better but we can't help Mother Nature.

our Family Vacation was Great!!! We took 3 adult Children, their spouses,5 grand babies and 6 of us grandparents and we had a fabulous time. The toddlers had such fun in and around the pool and they loved playing in the surf. God has so blessed us and we are so thankful for our family. We love taking vacations together. We stayed in this house in 2008 and now again in 2017. It was just as clean and spectacular this time as it was then. Thank you for sharing your place at the Outer Banks with us!!

Pictures don't do this property justice. Our family of 12 was very comfortable. House is very well maintained. The location was exactly what we were looking for (off the main roads, yet close to all attractions). The elevator was a lifesaver. Two kitchens came in handy. Everyone enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Small issue with the refrigerator getting stuck in defrost mode and the owner took care of it immediately. Enjoyed Jockeys Ridge, 2 Lighthouses, parasailing, putt-putt, go carts, and shopping in Duck. Check-in at 4 pm was was very crowded and confusing for first timers (like us). I would definitely recommend this house.

High Dunes was the perfect "home away from home" to host a family reunion for both kids and adults! great accommodations, pool and access to restaurants and activities up and down the coast.Although it was a comfortable walk to the beach the beach parking passes were a real bonus for hauling kids and beach toys,cooler,chairs,etc.

Great house for big groups that don't mind distance to beach

Party of 11 adults stayed here for a week. We understood upfront we were trading off beach distance for the size and amenities of the house, so overall we were satisfied.

The house was as described, in generally good shape and matched the pictures to a T. We had one maintenance issue which was fixed same-day, so we were happy with that. It was generally clean but a prior renter left something gross under one of the beds that the cleaning folks must have missed - so the cleaning crew was solid but not 100% thorough.

The layout was great and everyone having their own bedroom-bathroom was ideal for our group. The pool area was by far our favorite, it was a great place to congregate! The dining area worked for our group too, and kitchen was well-stocked (most knives were dull, but it is a rental). There was a storage area behind the garage for guest stuff that was full of pool and beach stuff (chairs, pool noodles and inflatables, etc) so check that out before you buy stuff.

We understood the beach was a Walk. It wasn't a bad walk, but it took 10-20 minutes each way depending on pace and route. We got two parking passes so we could be closer but it was kind of a hassle either way. Most of our time was at the pool, not the beach.

Note that no towels means no beach towels, bath towels, hand towels, wash clothes, kitchen towels, bath mats, etc. Since a lot of us were flying, we ended up buying a lot of towels. Also, the company gives you a starter roll of TP and a soap or two but otherwise the house was stripped bare. So bring enough to stock 8 bathrooms or plan to shop right away since you'll need to buy hand soap, TP, towels, etc the day you arrive. (Prior places we've rented at least had some leftover stuff, but this was like moving into a new apartment bare - no TP, no paper towels, no soap, nothin.)

Overall, it was a good fit for our group and we'd recommend it

Gorgeous well-maintained home with private pool

We stayed with other relatives in this awesome home. The elevator came in handy for our over 70 guests. The pool and patio area were perfect! And everyone was comfortable in the eat-in kitchen/living room. Plenty of space for everyone. On negative: some mattresses were a bit old/hard.

Our family had a wonderful week here! The home is lovely and well maintained. We found Southern Shores to be a good overall location and the home is in a pleasant neighborhood. The one drawback for some of my family members was the distance to the beach.

High Dunes Vista was a perfect home for our family vacation. 12 of us visited week ending 8/16/14- My wife and I, our two adult children with their Boyfriend/Girlfriend and our nieces and nephews. The 6 guest suites were perfect for us. House was immaculate, pool, hot tub and game room were a huge hit. Large great room on the third floor with Kitchen was a great gathering spot for nightly get togethers. set back so that we were sure that we were not bothering others while we were out at the pool. Property Management Team were all friendly and accommodating.

The house and pool were very nice. The water pressure in the house is very weak. If more than one shower was being used at the same time the water pressure was not much more than a little stream of water. Plus we had ANTS IN THE KITCHEN THAT TOOK ALMOST TWO DAYS TO BE TREATED. THE ANTS WERE ON THE COUNTER TOP BY THE SINK AND RANGE SO THIS WAS A REAL PROBLEM

We had an excellent vacation on our first trip to the Outer banks. We do plan to go back and would be extremely happy to stay in this home again. The Southern Shores town or North would be my areas of choice in the future.

Carolina shores was professional, accommodating, and overall a great company to work with- I would rent through them again in an instant! The house was everything advertised- we had four families with 8 kids, ranging in age from 6 months to 6 years, and everything was clean and convenient. The pool was great, we had more than enough room, every room has a bathroom and that was awesome! It was our first OBX experience, and it has made us want to make it a yearly tradition! We will defeinitely see you next year!

I had the best experience from the beginning to the end. Everyone at the Carolina Shores Vacation Rental LLC was very friendly and helpful in every way. The home was fabulous! well kept and clean. Had everything a family needed for a comfortable vacation. Location was great and quiet. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for an enjoyable time on the outer Banks. All I can say is I give a big 5 to the house and the property management. If I can, I will return next year and I would request the same house!

Beautiful home. Great ammenities. All issues (coffee maker, master tub, stereo, and hot tub) were handled timely. Hot tub service man was extremely rude upon arrival though apologized and got the hot tub working nicely. Location makes driving to the beach necessary with any chairs, coolers, or children in tow. We expected the walking path to be convenient beach sccess though it was a far walk. Great place for several families to stay comfortably and plenty to do for all at the home.

High Dunes Vista was a lovely place to stay in the OBX! The pictures online do not do it justice. The home was beautifully decorated and each of the bedrooms had it's own bathroom. This was a plus with 5 teenage girls in the house. The home was equipped with everything you could imagine. We enjoyed our margarita and pizza and beer nights while lounging in the pool or playing our new favorite game, Pass the Pigs. A wonderful time was had by all. We would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful week at High Dune Vista! House was spotless - there wasn't even dust on the baseboards. The hot tub breaker was blown from a storm and on Sunday afternoon, just a few hours after a call to the rental office, the pool service company was there to repair. Area was quiet and even though you couldn't see the ocean you could hear it when sitting out on a deck. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

We had a wonderful stay. We love the amenities of the home and the privacy afforded by the lot. The house is both kid and adult friendly. We did encounter a few minor issues but both the property company and owners were quick to respond. The customer service was great. We will definitely be back. Only one complaint, when we arrived the bathrooms and floors were not as clean as the should have been. We vacuumed and wiped down counters ourselves.

(5 couples) and 4 babies. Each room having its own bathroom and the elevator were definite plusses. the house is beautifully decorated and stocked with quality items. The pool was perfect, especially because it was too hot for the babies to go to the beach.
