Miss Abbi House - Great stay for large families!

My fiance and I had seven children with us during our stay, and we were quite pleased with the open floor plan, the bedroom accommodations, and the various decks, pool table, and hot tub. It was just a short walk to the beach, and the sand shower provided unexpectedly nice hot water. Not all the doors opened easily, and we were surprised by the lack of toilet paper, dish soap, and trash bags, but after a quick trip to the store, we were good to go. We had a small problem with the hot tub mid-week, but someone was sent quickly to help us out. Bright and well-stocked kitchen and living area. The house was big enough for the kids to be in separates spaces and yet the amenities allowed us to come together for great fun.

We truly enjoyed the outer Banks and spent very little time at the house. It is centrally located and fit our family and our needs very well.

This house is in a great location and for the most part is a decent stay; however, given the price, the house could use some updating and better upkeep. A few of the outside chairs were broken and many of the lightbulbs needed replacing. Also the mattress in the upstairs bedroom is terribly uncomfortable and needs to be replaced. Finally, the stairs inside are very steep so this house would not work well for people with knee issues.

Good price for being close to the beach. Pool table was a nice feature. Although the basement room (where the pool table is) smelled like mildew.

Miss Abbi helped make our family vacation a great experience and we made some wonderful memories. Very spacious, appeared to have new/updated comforters and bedding. Fully equipped kitchen with many pots, pans, crock pot, etc. Easy walk to the beach. If this property would allow me to bring my little dog I would rent it for several weeks every year:)

Overall great rental property. Plenty of room and what we expected. Some small maintenance issues like the doors sticking and sliding door on 2nd level hard to operate. Wifi almost non existent, seems to be a supplier issue. Nice location.

Close to beach access, rental store and restaurants/shops.Try Slice Pizzaria! Very good.

House was in a quiet neighborhood. The beach was fairly close to where we were staying. The view from the crows nest was georgous! The house was clean and spacious. The hot tub was nice, too. I would stay here again if I had the opportunity.

House was great, except the internet was terrible. Disconnected four adults on different devices from the wifi constantly, so if you need to work or stream videos, this needs to be fixed. Mgmt company came out to fix something quickly, but didn't respond to emails in a timely manner.

Very nice stay overall. Nice home. Great location. Would like to see the place stocked a little better upon arrival, i.e. had to rush out after long drive in to buy toilet paper, basic kitchen items.

KD 304 - Miss Abbi was a decent home to stay in during our first vacation to OBX. We were mostly satisfied with the home, however it desperately needs some updating. The website states there are 3 Queen beds... upon arrival we quickly noticed there is 1 Queen and 2 Fulls, which was was quite disappointing. Also, both bedroom doors to the mid-level deck do not function (you could loose an arm trying to open them). Also, I have to say the deck is in bad shape. Other than these few details we did enjoy our stay - the top level is gorgeous and nicely decorated! Plus, the crows nest offers a great few. We will be back but will not be staying in Miss Abbi.

Dishes were in the dishwasher from the last tenants.And the "Library " of DVD'S and Books was nonexistent ! Bring your own. Other than that, house was very comfortable, spacious for our families of Grandparents, young parents, pre-teens, a baby, a 4 yr. old. The pool table was very popular, as was the hot tub. We found the kitchen very well furnished for all the cooking we did, including Thanksgiving Dinner with the Turkey. Loved the YMCA membership, was used 1-2 times a day. We would recommend this house to anyone.

Super Rental for the Price

For the money, this is a great rental in a super location. The layout of the house was great for us - 4 adults, plus 2 young adults. We enjoyed using the hot tub, and spent lots of time outside on the decks and crow's nest. The kitchen is very functional, although appliances are low-end. Washer and dryer were used several times and worked great. Internet connection was super fast. Beach access is close, just a short walk down the street. My only complaint is that the house did not have 3 queen beds, as described, but instead had one queen and 2 full size beds. We did discover a sleeper sofa in the living room. We were also pleased to learn that 2 of the bedrooms had attached full baths. The house was described as "sleeps 8", but I think it could sleep 12. Only other complaint would be that several sliding glass doors no longer locked and were instead secured with large wooden poles. The area seemed safe, however, and we did not worry too much about this. One of the bedrooms lacked functional vertical blinds, and was not private from the street - but I'm sure this is something the owners could easily repair.

The house was roomy, fully equipped and beautifully decorated. The hot tub was an added bonus, which we enjoyed mostly at night when the sun went down! Short walk to the beach, the rental store and short drive to Harris Teeters. Perfect location! The YMCA pass was something we used more than expected too. Our 24 yr old son works out every day, so we knew he would use it, but we all actually enjoyed the pool and indoor basketball court occasionally. We would stay at this house again without any doubt. Maybe next time we would use the pool table! Too many other things to do this trip! The staff at Carolina Shores were very friendly and accommodating, the cleaning staff did a great job and the spa staff were great too. No complaints at all. We only complained now and then about the kitchen being on the 3rd floor, but the stairs did us good!! It would not be good for elderly people though. Wifi was added this summer, and that made our stay even better. Thank you to the owners who agreed to put it in :) Kill Devil Hills is our absolute favorite beach and town and finding this house was the icing on the cake. My whole family would recommend this house to anyone.

The unit and location were truly excellent; the beach is closer than it looks in the photos.

However, since this was our first stay in the Outer Banks we wished we had been warned about the extremely heavy traffic in and out of the area on Saturdays. Be sure to plan for extended travel times on the island and on Route 158 near the island.

Overall, this is a very nice property. It provide all the necessary amenities and had plenty of room for the whole family. The only negative was a battle with ants in the kitchen area; ended up throwing out a few boxes of crackers, but Raid seemed to do the trick! The walk to the beach was easy, especially with the cart provided to carry all our gear. Location to busy main road, however, was closer than we would have preferred, but may be a nice convenience for others. We would recommend house & Prop Mgmt company to others.

Very nice. Had a good time. Major ant problem in the kitchen that we had to keep on top of, but other than that very nice. Pretty clean and nice. Rugs in bathrooms need a cleaning. Very nice!!

WE have been to the OBX over 10 times Carolina Shores was by far the best rental co. we ever dealt with. We need a lamp shade, they provided it the first day. The sweeper at the home was awful, the brought a brand new one the same day we called. Very helpful, nice and professional!
