Great house for a great week

This is a great house for a week at the beach. Well laid out with two masters upstairs and two more bedrooms downstairs, with two soaking tubs (plus the outdoor hot tub) and a nice sized living room and kitchen. This house doesn't have a ton of steps to get into it, or to get over the dune to the beach, so it's perfect for someone who may have trouble with stairs. It was incredibly close to the beach, so my older kids could run back and forth to get a snack or toys while we stayed on the beach. It is walking distance to Jockey's Ridge, which was great for evening shopping, entertainment, and ice cream. The house has had some very nice updates, everything worked well and was well maintained. It's hard to find an oceanfront house to rent for a smaller family (so many of them are huge now) and this was perfect for our extended family of 6!

This is a fantastic, sophisticated house that exceeded our expectations. One of the cleanest homes we've stayed in and we have stayed in a lot of properties in the area. It is a short walk to Kitty Hawk kites and practically across the street from Jockey's Ridge.. The layout is great, with 2 master suites on the top floor and then 2 bedrooms on the main floor. It is attached to another condo next door but felt private and we didn't have any issues with that. The slice of beach is far enough down away from the public beach access that you feel like you have the ocean all to yourself. It's quiet and beautiful. There were a few things that needed attention (the microwave broke and sliding glass door was stuck) and the management company had people on it in less than 24 hrs, they were responsive and professional. The kitchen is well stocked and everything is organized. The appliances and the counter-tops are definitely a bit older but clean and no problems. We have 4 kids and appreciated all the buckets, boogie boards and sand toys that were available for kids to play with. Oh! And the hot tub! I loved that it was recessed into the deck, nice touch. The house has some games and some great puzzles for rainy days and lots of really nice artwork. We look forward to staying here again!

It's a smaller house but it was just perfect for us. The location was great. The Ocean view is from upstairs, the living room doesn't really have a view it's blocked by the dunes. Was very clean upon arrival. I had asked for extra cleaning due to my daughter having severe allergies so I don't know if we got extra cleaning because I asked or it's usually this cleaned by the rental company.
If so, I will always rent from this rental company. So many homes we've rented from other companies we've had to clean before we could relax, because it just wasn't a good job, this we really didn't have to. Needs some updating. The kitchen had everything we needed except could use new counters. Some of the mattresses could be replaced and the carpet. It would be neat to extend the deck instead of those steps and have some more outdoor seating & umbrellas. We didn't use the hot tub because it's right in those dune grasses & we got bit alive just being out on the porch. I think those grasses attract bugs and the charcoal grill is not really usable because it's in the dune grass. It would be nice to have a real grill and it would be nice to have a clothesline to hang up towels and things in the covered porch. Other than those minor things, we would rent the house again.

Comfortable and attractive home on the ocean. Soaking tub in 1 master BR and whirlpool tub in the other master. Loved that we could just walk across the street to Jockey's Ridge SP. Used the YMCA several times and found this to be a definite plus, especially in the winter. Had a great meal at Tortugas Lie. Very clean upon arrival. It would be so nice for the owners if all guests treated the home as if it were their own. I was disappointed to find burn marks on the countertops, probably because someone was not careful. I highly recommend this property. I have rented from other realtors in OB where linens and towels are included. We brought our own rather than renting them.

Over all it was a good experience. The house has beautiful rooms with a great view. We only had two concerns. First, we chose this house over two others because of the hot tub. We had our 80-year-old parents with us and they looked forward to it. We couldn't get the tub to run for more than five minutes. Some of our members missed out on family outings (more than once) waiting for the maintenance guy. Turns out the hot tub hasn't worked for the past four years. If they aren't going to replace it, the owners need to remove the pics and any reference in the descriptions. Second, the back steps although beautiful were not really conducive to the elderly and the under 3 age group. We worried constantly someone was going to roll down. We were very vigilant after my father rolled down once. Mentioned wanting some compensation for the lack of hot tub at check out, but haven't heard anything yet.

In fact I know personally it has been operating for over 8 years. We do apologize for the wait while the vendor replaced a broken part. Hot tub safety is our number one concern- children, the elderly and those with heart conditions are strongly advised not to use them. I am certain you found this lovely home breath-taking as I do! We had a great experience at this location! I hope we can go again next year. The location was perfect-just a few steps away from the ocean! The inside was in good condition...a little outdated, but who cares! The point of a beach vacation is to be outside on the BEACH! Wonderful experience!!!

We had a fantastic time staying in As Time Goes By. The house was clean and very comfortable. The kitchen had all the appliances we needed and plenty of dishes/silverware/cooking items. We loved being able to see the the many local sites (the wild horse tour was a big hit) and enjoyed all kinds of wonderful seafood dinners. Hot tub under the stars...beach during the could not have been more perfect for us. I would recommend this house and have signed up for next year already!

Oceanfront Retreat

This rental is just steps away from the beach and ocean and it was wonderful. In terms of the rental, it is dated but we were aware of that from the photos. The home was clean and it was very spacious. The hot tub wasn't operational which we were disappointed about. We did call for service but the technician wasn't able to fix it. The location in Nags Head was great for us because we were able to drive within a few minutes to restaurants, stores and sightseeing spots.

Great floor plan in this spacious 4 BR beachfront home. Nice extras like window bench seating, two master bedrooms, an outdoor hot tub and a GREAT private seating/lounging area off the dunes towards the beach. Beautiful sandy beach and ocean bottom for wading, swimming or other watersports. Appliances could use some maintenance/updating and the interior and exterior is showing some wear and tear. Doesn't distract at all from the experience, though. 10am checkout is really tough the last day - noon would be much better. Bottom line - our group of six would come back and stay again.

After 4 years, staying at the same property we continue to bask in the sun and love the location! A couple small issues this year, but the management team reacted immediately and arranged for "plumber" to come and address lack of water pressure in the kitchen! THANK YOU for the attention. One issue that we found, but hadn't reported was "mouse dropppings" in the whirlpool tub in the front master suite. That was odd... but didn't dampen anyones vacation experience. Couple in that room chose not to use the tub! Otherwise, as ususal a tremendous experience for us all!

Thanksgiving in Nags Head

The property was clean and in very good condition. Our property management contact (Paula) was EXCELLENT. She is Excellent to work with and she visited the property prior to our visit to make certain the property was clean and ready for our arrival. The hot tub was not working upon arrival due to a defective part identified the day prior to our arrival. The part was expedited and installed the day after Thanksgiving. A representative from the service company responsible for maintaining the hot tub personally visited to apologize for the delay in having the hot tub operational.
The property is on the beach but unfortunately the living, dining and kitchen area is on the first level which is below the dune minimizing a view of the ocean. The master bedroom has a large window to view the ocean.
Due to past experiences in Nags Head and Sand Bridge, VA, our primary requirement outside of accommodations for eight was a Clean Well-Maintained property. This property certainly met that requirement. I certainly would not hesitate to rent from Carolina Shores (and Paula in particular) in the future.

We have rented this property for 19 consecutive years so, obviously, we love this house and its location. It is one of the few houses that have no houses behind it and have gorgeous views of the ocean and Jockeys Ridge. As a result, the wide beach is never crowded. It is always clean, well maintained and tastefully decorated. If there are minor repairs to be made, they are not ones that detract from our enjoyment and if major, they are always repaired promptly. We hope to come back for many years to come with our "future" grandchildren.

This is our second year staying in As Time Goes By, in Nags Head NC. A 4 BR house, with a very nice clean hot tub on the deck.. very clean, nice appliances, a TV in every bedroom, a large TV in the Master King and Living room. Very quiet beach between Jeanette's Pier and Nags Head pier, few people on the beach daily. Right across from Jockey's Ridge and Kitty Hawk Kites, a great seafood market a couple blocks away too ! You can't go wrong with this place, it is superior to any other place we have stayed so far !!

This house is great! It's in a great location and you just pop out the back door and there's the ocean!
There's lots of comfortable places to sit in the house, a nice wood burning fireplace, a well stocked kitchen and the bedrooms are wonderful. The master bed with a king is to DIE for! The windows in that room go all of the way up to the ceiling and overlook the ocean. The room has a private soaking tub, walk in shower, large double vanity and seperate toilet room. The closets are enourmous and the over size of the room is VERY roomy. There are nice places to sit and relax in the room and watch the ocean.
The other master suite on the second floor, the queen is also a wonderful room with a HUGE garden jetted tub, huge double vanity, seperate toilet room, walk in shower, enourmous closet spaces, love seat, additional comfortable seating. The only complaint about this room is the bed. It's as hard a rock!!!

The bedrooms downstairs are roomy and comfortable as well. There's one bathroom for the two rooms downstairs and it's well decorated and even has a little stool in it for the little folks!

This house is very modern, comfortable and nicely decorated. There is now wireless internet service and there's a wonderful hot-tub in the back yard and a metal charcoal grill. This house has everything you want and more! We'll more than likely be coming back to this one in the future.

Also, the staff of Carolina Shores could not be more helpful!!!

A note to renters: the house doesn't have keys, but a keycode. Make sure you punch in the # sign before the number code in order to get in!!!!

We have rented this property for 17 consecutive years and plan to continue indefinitely. There is only one thing this property lacks - Internet availability!!!!!
Cannot understand why the owners do not have this inexpensive service since they have cable. So, if you want Internet service, this is not the house for you. Otherwise it's absolutely fantastic.

Everything about this property is perfect for us... except one small item. If it were dog-friendly, it could never be beat!!! When the owners brought their dog, it really made us want to have ours along also! Otherwise, I will want to rent this facility again! Perfect!! Perfect!!
