The Outer Banks presents its annual Independence Day Celebration with fireworks at Avalon Pier starting at 9:00 PM.
Celebrate the 4th of July at Avalon Pier! The Outer Banks goes all out on the 4th with events throughout the area. Contests awarding everything from the best apple pie to the wackiest hat will be in full effect no matter where you find yourself. But when the sun sets, there's only one place you'll want to be, and that's Kill Devil Hills for the best fireworks show around. Where vast shorelines provide everyone with the best seat in the house, the fireworks will shoot off at 9:00pm over the Atlantic and are the highlight of the summer season. Please note parking may be limited, so an early arrival is encouraged. Visitors are invited to bring folding chairs, blankets, or beach towels.
