When is my first payment expected?
Once a reservation is made a lease is immediately mailed to you. Your first payment, which includes half of the rent, the reservation fee(plus tax) and (optional) travelers insurance, is due within 7 days. Your signed lease and initial payment should be mailed to: Carolina Shores Vacation Rentals, P.O. Box 2684, Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, 27948. Payment may also be made with a Visa, Master Charge, or Discover card by calling us direct at 252-715-1901. There is a credit card convenience fee of $29.95 for each credit card payment. The credit card must be in the name of the leaseholder. You may also make a payment with an E-Check, using your Routing and Account number from your checking account. There is a $5.00 fee for an E-Check.
Where do I pick up my keys?
Your keys will be made available no later than 4pm on your check-in day at our main hospitality office located at mile post 4.75 on the bi-pass (3600 N. Croatan Hwy) in Kitty Hawk. For those checking in to homes in Ocean Sands, Monteray Shores, Ocean Hill, Whalehead, The Villages of Ocean Hill or the four wheel drive areas keys may be picked up at our Corolla office. This office is located at 821 Ocean Trail, Suite #104, Corolla, NC. Early check-ins may be available at an advance fee of $125.00 plus tax. We will attempt to comply with each early check-in request however there are occasions when an early check-in cannot be honored. These occasions include serious repairs, previous tenant damages, or deep cleaning. If this situation does occur your early check-in fee will be credited back to you.
What if I arrive after your office closes?
No worries! If you arrive after hours your keys or key code, arrival packet and directions to your vacation home will be found in the late arrival box outside our entrance door.
What is the telephone number at my vacation home?
Carolina Shores will gladly provide you with the telephone number of your vacation rental 7 days prior to arrival. We strictly enforce this policy for the comfort of other guests. Also, occasionally units change hands or telephone numbers are changed. This allows us to provide you with an accurate and current telephone number.
What do I need to bring?
All of our homes are equipped with standard kitchen amenities such as utensils, china and glassware, pots, pans, coffee makers, toasters and blenders. It is suggested you bring paper products such as paper towels, toilet tissue, facial tissue, trash bags, hand soap, dish soap and laundry soap. Although each home comes with pillows, mattress pads and a comforter, you will still need to either bring or rent sheets and towels for your stay. Carolina Shores Vacations will be glad to assist you in acquiring these items.
When is check-out time?
Check out time is 10am. Please be considerate to future tenants by having all kitchen utensils, china and glassware and pots and pans washed and returned to their original location. Also, all floors must be swept and/or vacuumed and all beds made. Please pile all rented linens at the interior entrance to the home for convenient pick up.
What if we are planning to leave before your office opens?
If you plan on getting an early start, simply drop off your keys, guest survey, and pre-reservation form in our late arrival box prior to leaving the beach. Have a safe trip home and we’ll see you next year!
We had a great vacation and want to return next year. How can we do this?
All you need to do is complete the pre-reservation form, found in your check-in packet, to reserve the same home for the same week next year. Carolina Shores Vacation Rentals does not charge a fee for this service for most of our vacation homes. Simply drop off the pre-reservation form and we’ll take care of the rest. Please remember this is a tentative reservation. If your selected property is no longer available for rent, has been reserved for owner time, or is no longer represented by Carolina Shores Vacation Rentals, we will of course make suggestions of similar properties. All leases will be sent out in October so the initial payment may be made. If you do not receive your lease by November 1 please contact us at 252-715-1901.
