Drop the hook at this beautiful freshly remodeled canalfront home. Located on the peaceful waters of Colington Harbour, this home is ready for your boat, jet ski, Stand-up paddle board or kayak adventure. The community boat launch ramp (fee) is available nearby for a quick launch.

At the front of the home you will be welcomed with ample parking and a 2 car garage for all your storage needs (two beach chair and one beach umbrella provide for guest use). Entering the home on the ground floor, you will enjoy the Rec room with Pool table; a great retreat area for the kids and adults. A back door will take to the back lush yard where you will find a furnished patio, Enclosed outside shower, Gas grill and Private dock.

From the dock you and your family can fish, crab or start a boating, kayak /Standup Paddle adventure down the scenic canal, winding its way through the waters of Colington out into the Albemarle Sound on an adventure that is sure to be one of the highlights of your vacation!

On the outside of the 2nd floor you find the open air screen canalfront deck with extraordinary views of water, wetlands, & wildlife. Watch the activity of the canal while enjoying morning coffee or an evening glass of wine on this delightful furnished deck. Inside a comfortable well-furnished living area awaits you with two futons, large screen TV that opens to the fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar that can serve seafood and steaks at the water view dining area.

The 2nd level also has three bedrooms: 1st master suite with a King bed and HDTV, 2nd Queen bedroom and 3rd Double and twin bedroom. A full hall bathroom is also available.

Getting to the beach is easy and only a short 10-minute drive to a beach access with Parking, bathhouse and guarded beach in season, located at the end of E. Ocean Bay Blvd. You will find Numerous restaurants, grocery stores, & shopping centers close by.

Spectacular community amenities including: a huge sound side park with sandy beaches, a playground, and sheltered picnic areas, a basketball court, as well as a boat launch and boat slips for rent. Also the Yacht and Racket Club, which allows use of the two outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, and community clubhouse.

My family and I loved this house. We have two young children and they couldn't get enough of hanging out on the dock, fishing, kayaking etc. The yard is wonderful and spacious. The only downside, as others have mentioned, were the beds - with the exception of the one queen they were all very uncomfortable. We would absolutely stay again during the off season (if the beds got an upgrade!)

The house is lovely but could use some attention. The carpet in the two bedrooms needs to be deep cleaned or replaced. The tile in the main bathroom needs to be regrouted. The pool table could use a new felt and pool sticks. The upstairs screened in porch needs a new screen door. There is a gap at the top of the door allowing bugs to get in. The return vent was full of dust. I cleaned it with the Shark vacuum cleaner which was nice to have available. The curtains and valances need attention. There are also lots of cobwebs that need to be cleared away. My sister and I cleared away some as we swept off the decks, outdoor shower and garage. A deck broom would have come in handy. There are two bathrooms not two and a half as mentioned in the description as well as no piano. The stove has no indicators for temperature. The dishwasher latch is broken making it hard to open. The microwave malfunctioned on Sunday and was promptly replaced on Monday. The internet and smart tv's worked great. The ping pong table was nice. The paddles and balls are conveniently located. The yard is lovely and there are plenty of chairs and tables to use. Overall, the house is lovely. It just needs a little TLC. The management team at Carolina Shores are very friendly and ready to resolve any issues promptly.

Love the location. House is nice but in need of TLC. Couches are uncomfortable, and lots of dust bunnies, which thanks to a cordless vac we were able to remedy. Loved the pool table, ping pong table and crab pots. Property managers were very nice and enjoyed working with them.

The road to the house is about 10 min from the main road yet the neighborhood is quiet and great for walks. The property does not come with linens or towels. It needs a good outside cleanup in both dirt and lawncare. The house has a good open space and the size of the rooms are nice. It would make vacations a little easier if upon arriving there was some starter supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels, anything.

We loved the games room - pool table and scrabble board. We loved the gas grill and large dining table and living room area. Pots were not previously scrubbed clean from previous renters, and we tried our best to clean the ones we used, but one just wouldn't come clean. Our biggest problem/concern were the cockroaches outside the house, in the garbage can, outside on the screened in porch and even one in the master bed room (luckily we found that one on our next to last day, otherwise I would have freaked out and not been able to sleep all week). We also appreciated the use of the beach chairs and beach umbrella. My husband also borrowed a fishing rod, but had no luck catching anything but sunburn. We also liked the pool at the club house, Had to buy rubber wrist bands for $2 each person, return them on the last day of trip to get the money back. My teens loved the big pool our 5 year old loved the kiddie pool. We were really disappointed in the sound swimming area and playground though. Bugs were too bad, couldn't stay there more than 5 minutes. Colington Pizza rocked, great pizza and very fast service! Nice to find that there were actually 4 tvs, one in each bedroom and large one in living room. Had kids books too. That was nice. Could have used better tongs for cooking hot dogs. Ice maker in freezer was awesome though. Overall pretty good house, fun games room. But the cockroaches kind of freaked everyone out a bit. I did tell office at check out, so hopefully they do something about it.

We loved letting our dog enjoy the fenced in backyard, the kids crabbing and swimming off the dock, playing pool, and using the community pool. The neighborhood is lovely. Window AC units were imperfect, one vented on the screened in dining area. Piano was broken. Several lights didn’t work.

All in all, the stay was great. It would have been a highly rated stay, but was marred by 2 events: A water leak, and very active squirrel family. The house INSIDE was great: The central air control is more than a bit outdated ( you have to remove the cover to turn it on, then set the desired temperature). The rooms are comfy, the enclosed porch is nice, with a great view. The garage is great ( unfortunately, the control to open is --- necessarily and understandably-- inside. No remote, obviously, because guests would forget and take it with them).... everything needed for a great stay is THERE: Family supersize Scrabble, Pool and Tennis Table, fishing and crabbing gear, rafts, additional tye-down for the dog, touch screen Keurig, all great touches!!! Sooo.... why so bad? Well, let's begin with day 1: we arrived and during the unloading, my wife noticed a small hole in the crawlspace above the garage to the left. Peering out were 2 beady eyes of a grey squirrell. This little guy buried in and invited a friend. He was WELL camped BEHIND THE WALL OF THE BED IN THE MASTER BEDROOM, making scratching and wall-gnawing sounds all night long.... every night... for the entire week.. We arrived on Saturday. we called first thing Sunday morning to report, and were told someone would be out that day. No call, No text, no show. I stopped by the office the next day, figuring an in-person visit would matter..ALSO at that time, our internet suddenly had gone out, which I also reported. I was told someone from pest control would be in early afternoon , and I'd received a call about the internet. yet again, No call, No text, no show. I spent an hour in the afternoon tracing and rebooting the router myself, then reconnecting and resetting the internet. Pest control showed the next day Wednesday, 3rd day since the report. Did I mention the busted pipe that caused a leak between the 2 properties? We came back in the afternoo

Easy and straight forward rental process. All staff friendly and helpful. Everything as promised and expected. Home was comfortable and very clean, with a nice decor throughout home. Nice neighbors, quiet, safe, comfortable home and area. The only down side is the very strong odor in the basement area that is the game room. Smells too strong to spend anytime in this room. Only able to use as a pass through to the outside, or to come in from the garage upstairs. Fine for us since it was only the three of us, but if it's a larger group, or family, the inability to use this extra space may be problematic. Even though there was a de-humidifier and several damp rid containers, and air fresheners in place, odor still too strong to use space. I'd invest in getting to the source of this smell, maybe in the walls or flooring.

We had to clean enormous amounts of Spiders and Black Flies infestation. Also Carolina Shores Reality required us to pay a PET DEPOSIT however our pet did nothing and we actually left this place in better conditions than we found it. They will not refund the pet deposit as they say they don't. A deposit is just that a deposit, if the party does damage or breaks the policy, they either are refund a percentage of just nothing. We will not be recommending none of you to anyone. this is not only a bad way or doing business, but it damages your reviews. The inside of the home - it was nice after ya cleaned it.

We truly enjoyed our stay in Salty Shenigans, albeit too brief thanks to Florence! The home is beautiful inside and out, and stocked with everything you could need. The only suggestions I could offer would be to install some pathway lighting, the side of the house is very dark when returning after dark and pathway lights would be a huge help. And the living room sofas while beautiful are terribly uncomfortable for relaxing after a long day. Neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, not too far from the center of everything. We are already planning a return trip, hopefully without a hurricane next time.

Overall, we were pleased with this rental home. We thoroughly enjoyed staying right on the sound and loved having our own dock for fishing and catching crabs all week. This area was perfect for us because we visited the surrounding towns including Duck (25 mins), Corolla (1 hr), and Nags Head (10 mins). We cooked in about every night which worked out great in the beautiful spacious kitchen which had a huge selection of pots and pans. However, there were quite a few downfalls I’d have to say about this home too. The basement had a musky odor, the rugs still had white dog hair all over them (one even smelled like pee), and there are a few repairs needing to be made to this home as well. We had a repairman to come take a look at a few areas of the home including the dryer not being connected to the dryer vent hose, a possible leak in the garage (water was dripping from the ceiling and was causing the ceiling to bubble), the sink continued to stop up, and the tile in one of the bathrooms is broken as well.

Lovely home! Would stay again! I wouldn’t advertise the ping pong table since it was torn up a bit. The landscaping, especially the shrubs in front of the screen, needed pruning, You should be able to see the canal at all points. Cobwebs needed to be swept outside stairs and screened porch. I loved the freshness inside! Please fix outlets in master and basement. There was one additional TV!

We had a great time! This house is very comfortable and fun! We loved the pool table, scrabble, crabbing and swimming in the canal. Access to the pool and beach area was awesome. A little disappointed with the outside area.. very tall grass, beer cans by the grill, dirty and spider webs everywhere including all over the outdoor shower and ping pong table. But overall it was a great stay!

First ever trip to OBX. We went with family, including my elderly parents. The pool table and fishing from the dock were great for down time! Great kitchen! This house was so great! The house was very clean and functional. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of room for the whole family. With the pool table, ping pong table, scrabble board, and much more we never got bored. The best part of the house was the view overlooking the sound from the screened in back porch. Also having the private dock was great, we brought our boat down and docked it the whole week! Overall it was such a great week in a great house, we would definitely rent again!

Took our family to OBX before sending our youngest off to college. Loved this house and the area. The updates to the house are wonderful, mornings sitting on the screened on deck overlooking the canal were so peaceful. Will definitely be back.
