I’m recommending this neighborhood as a great location for a family vacation. We have been coming to this area for seven years. Each year provides us with a very restful and enjoyable experience. This particular home is one of the moderately sized homes remaining. It sleeps seven.

This house was everything we wanted and needed. Loved the den where the TV was as it brought us together in the evenings! The library is incredible though we didn't start reading towards the end of our stay so..I guess we'll have to rent again so we can finish the novels and books

This is our second time staying at the Ruggles property and we will definitely be back again in the future. The space is always clean and has all the essentials and more for a relaxing vacation. You can really tell the owners care for the rental and it has that home away from home feeling. Our family of 6 had enough room to spread out when we weren't at the beach!

This house is fantastic!! It is beautifully maintained and has everything that you might need. The proximity to the ocean makes it extra special. We particularly enjoyed watching the sun rise from the steps, using the hot tub every evening, and reading in the hammock. The house is close to shopping and restaurants as well. We loved every second in the lovely home!! Thank you!!

We had a wonderful time at this home! It was just the right size, had every amenity needed, and the beach access was second to none. The sunrises from the primary bedroom were fantastic! The house is great and the Outer Banks were great. If we ever come back to the OBX, we'll rent this house without delay or hesitation! Despite missing the first two days thanks to Dorian, we had a great vacation. Would have loved to stay there another week. It's a great house, beautifully decorated, and sits snugly behind a big dune. Would love a small landing off stairs for ocean viewing, but otherwise, the place is perfect.

This was the first time we have rented an ocean front, and have enjoyed the Whalehead area for several years. It was the most that felt like home as soon as you walk in you could feel the owners pride and joy in this place. To top it off the owner called us on the first night and made sure everything was all right. We will gladly come back to this home.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Ruggles house. It was very well kept, clean and decorated very tastefully! The owners even called while we were there to see how things were for us which I thought was an incredibly sweet gesture! Overall, the house was great and we would definitely recommend it!

This house was a perfect spot for our first visit to Corolla. Right on the Oceanfront in Whalehead beach with a private boardwalk to the sand. Quiet, very clean, nicely decorated, fully stocked kitchen, games, books, beach chairs/umbrellas, lots of extra blankets, pillows, etc. About 2 miles from Food Lion, restaurants, and shops (easy bike ride). Dune view from the main level—we saw beach deer. Ocean view from the upstairs master bedroom. We would definitely love to stay there again.

We loved our stay at this home! Right on the beach in Corolla, and chairs/umbrellas/toys for the beach, as well as a high chair and pack-n-play were provided - perfect for a family with young children. The home is impeccably decorated, light and airy, yet still homey. We hope to return some day!

My family had a great time at this home. It was perfect with two little boys, aged 3y and not quite 1y. We loved being so close to the beach, so we didn't have to constantly pack everything up and set up - we could hop inside whenever we wanted! Would definitely stay here again in the future. Great location.

It was great being right on the beach. Chilly while we were there in April but quiet and nice. We met some great young people in Timbuck I who were friendly and fun. We’re able to walk on the beach several days and what a joy to have a nice quiet walk. The house was lovely. Spotlessly clean. Which means a lot. Loved being able to walk out the patio door, up the walkway and directly to the beach. In the upstairs bedroom you could open the patio door and listen to the beach sounds. Cannot think of a nicer experience. Told my husband it was the best birthday gift ever. I would love to go back to this little house but will not. We have two chihauhaus and the older one had an anxiety attack while we were away. She was boarded with our vet and well cared for, but she is so attached to me she would not eat.snd just sat and shook. Next time we will have to go to a pet friendly house. I do highly recommend this house. It is beautiful. The staff at Carolina Realty were excellent. They were very supportive and helpful. Had a great vacation. Just shorter than planned.

As former Whalehead property owners we know the area well and witnessed many giant houses constructed over the years. None of those McMansions captures the true essence of a beach vacation like the Ruggles home. Comfortable and functional furnishings, a well stocked kitchen, books, games, barbecue grill, hammock and situated right on the beach. Perfect! If you want to spend your beach vacation indoors playing pool or video games, then this is not the home for you. If you want to spend your time on the beach and connect with your family around the dinner table in the evening, then this is the perfect home. We will be back.

This house was just right for our family's comings and goings. Great location, loved the access to the beach, loved the hot tub, great floor plan. House was clean and kitchen well appointed. Grocery stores close by but still had that residential feeling. We've stayed in other parts of the OBX several times and would choose this house and location again. This house was just right for our family's comings and goings. Great location, loved the access to the beach, loved the hot tub, great floor plan. House was clean and kitchen well appointed. Grocery stores close by but still had that residential feeling. We've stayed in other parts of the OBX several times and would choose this house and location again. Ruggles was the perfect house for our beach vacation. This house was comfortable, clean, and very well equipped. We appreciated the private beach walkway, hot tub, hammock, beach chairs and umbrella and all the great books found throughout the house. The location was ideal, a quiet residential neighborhood, just a short drive to shopping, restaurants, minigolf, etc.... We had a wonderful time exploring the OBX, seeing the wild horses, watching many dolphins in the ocean, and just relaxing on the beach. We would highly recommend Ruggles if you are planning a trip to the Outer Banks.

House was in excellent condition and very clean. <br/>We found both the outside and inside amenities were set up for a perfectly relaxing vacation, whatever the weather may be. The beach was fantastic, the water was perfect and the house only added to the pleasant environment. Will definetely be back!

Ruggles is a gorgeous beachfront oasis perfect for one family (sleeps 8-10, but comfortably 6-8 is more reasonable)--the owners keep the house up to date, adding new amenities every year--this year it was a new, beautiful kitchen. The beach is easily accessible via the wooden walkway--couldn't ask for anything quickly feels like home--light, bright, gorgeous views and everything you need to make your beach vacation wonderful~

This house is perfect for a family vacation. It has plenty of room for a family of 6. It was my wife and I and we loved it. The house has a lot of amenities including almost new kitchen, hot tub, 2 tier deck, hammock, and most important STEPS to the beach. Fantastic property and location, we will be back.

This place is perfectly sized for a couple or two. Excellent location. Great outdoor space. Could do without all the notes taped all over the house providing instruction (if you feel compelled to provide "helpful" instruction, how about a book that guests can refer to? having notes everywhere takes away from relaxation). Think it'd be better to have the TV in the living room as opposed to a contained den. Also why not just include linens and adjust the price accordingly?

The property is exactly as described and the location was really perfect. Close enough to jog or bike to shops in Corolla, private steps to access the ocean right over the dunes. Everything was clean and well-maintained with information provided to help us throughout the week with logistics like garbage and recycling days and how to use the hot tub. Would consider staying here again in the future, especially to enjoy Historic Corolla's bookstore, kayaking, Whalehead Club, smoothie shop, etc.

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and it was great. The house was perfect for our family and had everything we needed from baby monitors, pack and play, highchair and much more. The views were gorgeous and the location was perfect. We would definitely come back here again. The streets were perfect for morning runs and the kids loved the ice cream truck coming by too. The pictures were spot on and it was very clean when we arrived. We had to call because of a clogged tub and they came right away to fix. The horse tours were a lot of fun and having shops close by was a nice break from the beach too. We can't wait to plan our next trip to the Outer Banks and we will definitely come back to Corolla.
